Home design trends change all the time, which is why I recently took a trip out to Thornton Flooring to speak with their sales manager Mike Husby about what flooring trends are popular now. But first, let’s touch on Thornton Flooring, itself.
Thornton Flooring, which I’m sure you’ve already heard of, is a family-owned company that was started more than 40 years ago by Mike’s uncle, Rick Thornton, in 1975. Since the store’s humble beginnings, at which point it was based out of a garage, Thornton Flooring has grown into one of the Midwest's largest flooring stores.
Now, let’s move on to some current trends.
People just want a floor that they can live on.
According to Mike, the hottest flooring trend right now is vinyl-plank flooring—otherwise known as “waterproof flooring.”
“People just want a floor that they can live on,” says Mike. And vinyl-plank flooring, which is durable and easy-to-clean, definitely delivers on that front.
As for carpet, patterns are still “in,” as they give an interesting, textural design element to any room.
Even if you aren’t sure what you’re looking for, though, the sales staff at Thornton Flooring will be happy to help you. And they won’t just help you select a flooring option—they’ll also visit your home for no additional cost in order to measure your room and provide you with an estimate.
So if you’ve been looking to replace your home’s flooring, feel free to drop by Thornton Flooring in person or visit their website: www.thorntoncarpets.com.
